Hello, we are Jim & Dawn Ziarkowski, owners of K9 Country Club. We are a full-service dog boarding facility located in Waukesha, WI that serves Waukesha, New Berlin, Brookfield, Mukwonago and surrounding areas. Founded in 2017, K9 Country Club specializes in dog boarding and offers a variety of services that are tailored to your dog’s needs. We grew up with dogs and understand the importance of your furry family member! We have shared our dog enthusiasm for over 25 years and have significant experience with a lot of breeds to include German Shepherd, Malinois, Caucasian Shepherd, Czechoslovakian Vlcak (wolfdog), and many more. Our love and understanding of dogs made us a perfect fit to be kennel owners and we have 6 furry children of our own! Our goal is to make your dog feel at home through individual attention and love for each guest.

My husband shared his review already, but I wanted to share here, too. I figured it can never hurt to share the appreciation for our local businesses! We were hemming and hawing for a LONG time on who we should board our big Komondor mix (Kaz) and our Border Collie/Pittie mix (Taylor) for the first time ever. They are homies, so we wanted them be boarded together, but everywhere we looked was just insanely priced to do that (over $160 a day). I would have been paying more for them to stay at a pet hotel than for me to stay at a Disney hotel - and as much as I love my pets, that seemed too much. But then we found K9 Country Club and saw they work closely with area K9 police units (including local FBI and DEA). I have known a few officers who have had K9 companions and I KNOW they never board them somewhere without making sure it was up to their standards. We met Jim and Dawn a few days before our vacation, per their request, so they could see if they were a good fit with the dogs. Our dogs loved them from the start. You can tell they love all dogs and were more than happy to board them together, as their larger kennel was available. The dogs have access to an individual outdoor run right off their kennel so they could go in and out as they needed. If your dog doesn’t like a “neighbor” in another kennel, they had drapes so nobody could lock eyes and get upset at each other all day. I appreciated knowing that. The kennels themselves are in a climate controlled building and on the hottest days of the year so far, I didn’t have to worry that my giant fluffball would overheat! And they had plenty of play time with the owners. I loved that they only let one dog (or one “family” of dogs) out at a time, so my dogs had the run of the yard for a bit without any unknown dogs to cause a ruckus. So safe! And when we got back, our Komondor mix just wanted more belly rubs from Dawn and our Border Collie/Pittie mix was running around like she owned the place! Jim seemed just as excited as we were that the dogs had a great time. :) I’m so glad we found them and definitely will be asking for their services again in the future! I’ve told a few people of their services because they also take intact dogs, which is so hard to come by with dog boarding businesses. Editing To Add in January 2026: They are now our primary dog care when we have to go out of town. Taylor and Kaz love Jim and Dawn! We use their services a few times a year. Thanks, Jim and Dawn!!

We used Jim back in Feb. Of 2020 and most recently August 2025. Both times we had an amazing experience. Our dog has high anxiety. To the point he ripped out his own tooth while we were on our trip. Jim took care of him and had a vet take a look just to make sure all was okay. Each kennel is private which is what we needed for our dog. We will always use Jim!

Our dogs are so excited every time they go to K9 Country Club! Jim is super friendly and definitely cares about the dogs! We have 2 Dutch Shepherds (one male and one female) and we know that their breed is cared for and understood here. When they come home, they are tired! They definitely get plenty of play time during their stay! Knowing that they are cared for while we’re away makes us feel so much better! In addition, the pricing is great and super reasonable!
